During our recent Tech Talk webinar, Chief Scientist and Regulatory Compliance Officer Steve Reinecke, MT (CLS), CPHIMS, Targus’ UV-C consultant, shared valuable insights into the growing popularity of UV-C and clean tech among businesses and enterprises, and how UV-C works to create a cleaner workspace.
Here are a few highlights from the discussion:
According to Targus’ 2021 survey of enterprises and SMBs, 18.5% of organizations are planning to transition to clean desking within the year, while another 47.6% are considering the move to clean desking. In addition, 38.5% are evaluating some form of UV-C LED disinfection and 49% state their organizations would use a similar product if it was proven to work against COVID-19, SARS, MERS, and other pathogens.
UV-C light inactivates germs, such as viruses and bacteria, by penetrating through their cell wall, disrupting the structure of their DNA, and prohibiting reproduction and infection.
Targus’ UV-C LED Disinfection Light is a non-touch solution to help reduce pathogens on device surfaces that is designed to stand between your keyboard and monitor on the desktop to automatically disinfect the surfaces of keyboards, mice, and other items within the disinfection range.
Not all UV-C disinfection solutions are created equal.
Our UV-C LED Disinfection Light has been rigorously tested to become the first UL-certified surface disinfection solution approved for use in the commercial space. UL 962 is the premier North American Standard for household and commercial furnishings which verifies that products meet electrical, flammability, and personal injury safety requirements.
